I’ve taken my time deciding this.
Well, no.
Actually, I lie.
I decided it ages ago but I’ve taken my time announcing it.
This blog is no more.
I’ve begun blogging somewhere more appropriate to our current situation and I hope that those who are interested in us will continue to follow and those who are interested in Portugal, living there and/or moving there will continue to find use in this blog as it stands.
I’m not removing it. I’m just not posting any further updates.
Just so’s y’all know.
Hi Tracy
I’ve followed your blog for a while and its a shame to have it discontinued – but understand things change.
I run a number of Portugal sites:
http://foodandwineportugal.com/ http://portugalholidays.com/ http://sintratours.co.uk/ http://dourotours.co.uk/
to name a few …..
I actually purchased the Foodandwineportugal.com site above last year for a nominal amount – and that I would continue the ethos and spirit of the site, not remove any historical posts … make it clear that the site has been taken over. I would simply give it a design overhaul, add a few links back to my other portals and continue to drop feed relevant posts to keep the site ‘alive’.
Have a think, as I would be delighted to continue your good work and hopefully you get some benefit for the work too. As I say, nothing from the site woul dbe removed – just enhanced and focussed in certain directions related entirely too your existing work.
Look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi
Thanks for your comment but I’m not interested in anybody else taking over the blog.
Tracey,
All the best with this new phase in your lives!
My wife and I are considering moving to the Algarve (undecided between Lagos, Vilamoura and the hills around Vilamoura), now that we have retired and really enjoyed your very detailed and open blog. You could certainly write a book on the experience!
Best regards,

Sadly, I didn’t discover your blog until you were back in the UK; however, as Brits longing for a change of lifestyle and in love with Lagos (me at least), I eagerly devoured every word you wrote – and thoroughly enjoyed your account of your experiences. We have no school-age children (youngest at uni) so would not encounter the difficulties your family had. I very much hope you are able to return to Portugal in the future if that’s what you want. Thank you for a very enjoyable account of life there… and I echo the book sentiments. There are a lot of us out here who love reading about other people’s overseas experiences – warts and all! Thank you Tracey.
